Earth Tea Cup Collection

As a multi-faceted artist, I have a passion for tactile art-making. Wheel-working was one way to fulfill this passion, so pictured here is a small gallery of teacups.

The burnt scarlet tea cup was my attempt at a traditional tea cup form; functional but also crafted with an aim for perfection. The other two are more contemporary forms, not as focused on functionality but more on design.

The off white speckled cup was inspired by an acorn shape, and can be used for small servings of tea or an espresso shot. The charred brown teacup is the most offbeat of the collection, with the focus being on how the two components fit together and making sure the grip was form-fitting to the hand.

When selecting glazes, I tend to lean towards earthy, rustic, neutral color palettes, and this has carried over a lot into my general aesthetic. I admire the eggshell white glaze on the acorn tea cup the most for its "rustic" appearance and naturalistic speckles.
